Karnataka Rs.2400 Crore Housing Scheme

Karnataka’s Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya has announced that under Ambedkar Nivas, the Government will be soon launching housing scheme worth Rs 2,400 crore for SCs and STs.

The housing scheme will be aiming to build 1.5 lakh houses in total. Of these 1 lakh houses will be for rural areas and will be built at a cost of Rs 1.5 lakh per unit for rural areas and remaining 50,000 houses will be built in urban area at a cost of Rs 1.8 lakh a unit.

In his speech the Minister has also mentioned about various development scheme for ST and SC that the government has plan to fulfilled like construction of 1.5 lakh toilets in rural areas. And that total of Rs 2,120 crore was released to the RDPR Department.

The minister has also ensured the subsidy to Rs 2 lakh from Rs 75,000 for the purchase of tractors and earmarked Rs 30 crore for this. It has also earmarked Rs 10 crore to distribute seeds to SC and ST farmers.
